Pick Your FATE: Mission: Ares Outpost - Mars

 Team living on Mars

Pick Your FATE: Mission: Ares Outpost - Mars

Something’s off at Ares Outpost. Sol says it’s fine. It’s definitely not fine. The storm warning just echoed through the colony. Metal hums under your boots. Pressure gauges rattle. Power flickers. And the crew’s favorite coder insists the alarms are “mostly optional.” Now it’s up to you to keep the base alive. Every console hums with problems waiting to be solved - coolant leaks, signal loss, pressure drifts, feedback loops - and every decision you make shifts what happens next. Work alone, or team up with Mira, the unshakable systems analyst; Vega, the calm-under-fire mechanic; or Sol, the chaotic genius who thinks duct tape is a lifestyle. Together, you’ll chase faults through a labyrinth of wires, valves, and sensors as the Martian storm closes in. Choose well, and you might stabilize the outpost. Choose poorly, and you’ll trigger the kind of explosion Sol swears was “on purpose.”. About the Pick Your FATE Series The Pick Your FATE books turn reading into exploration. Each mission fuses real science, teamwork, and humor to make problem-solving feel like an adventure - not homework. Readers aged 8–14 don’t just read the story; they guide it, discovering how logic, timing, and courage keep explorers alive in impossible places. Perfect for: ✅ Kids who love space, science, and stories that let them think for themselves. ✅ Classrooms and STEM clubs looking for replayable challenges. ✅ Anyone who knows that mistakes aren’t failure - they’re feedback. Grab your toolkit. The storm’s building. Sol’s already making “improvements.” Your mission starts here. Behind the Mission What started as a short interactive story I was making for my kids grew into a full-scale mission - 521 pages of choices, puzzles, and science in disguise. Every page hides a decision that can reroute the story, reveal a secret path, or teach a real engineering principle (without ever feeling like homework). The Mars base might be fictional, but the systems, pressure balances, and power grids are modeled on real logic. Building it took months of mapping, testing, and re-testing every branch to make sure there were no dead ends - just discoveries. As the first book in the Pick Your FATE series, it set the tone for what’s to come: curiosity, teamwork, and a little humor can keep any outpost alive. This is only the beginning. More missions are already on the launch pad - from deep oceans to ancient ruins - each a new world of science, mystery, and discovery waiting to be explored.
